Repair or replace worn and faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions, differentials or steering gear; dismantle them and check parts, referring to manuals. Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts or assemblies, use various instruments to make sure they are working properly and put them back into the vehicle Tune engines using special electronic equipment and make fine adjustmentsfor smoother running Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs Diagnose, repair and replace engine management/fuel injection components Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition and electronic fuel injection Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates or list the work required before a certificate can be issued. Writing vehicle damage repair estimates Repairing broken or worn mechanical components Installing equipment, components and systems Testing vehicles both before and after repair Repairing electrical wiring, circuits and fixtures Maintain diagnostic equipment provided by BMW Ensure the cleanliness of his work bay at all times Carrying out work as stated in the Job Order. Working within the FRU manual guidelines which will ensure high performance and efficiency levels. Informing the Team Leader of any problems with the machinery or work interruptions resulting from additional jobs, non availability of spare parts, or inability to meet deadlines. Assisting in the coaching / training of the mechanic/ electrician. Returning warranty parts to Clerk after cleaning & tagging them. Abiding by regulations relating to safety at work and reporting any breach of rules to the Team Leader. Following the QMA procedures & guidelines. Working flexible hours depending on the workload.
